Hi, I’m Britt Leeworthy – Registered Massage Therapist, (almost Acupuncturist) and owner of MEND Health & Wellness. I’m here to help you optimize your health, prevent or recover from injury and get out of pain so that you can get back to crushing your goals and achieving whatever it is you want out of life.
Unraveling the interconnected puzzle of the human body is my jam. Nothing gets my nerdy brain more excited than figuring out that your neck pain was due to an old knee injury, or that your migraines were related to your anxiety (which was likely due to your overworked and stressed out lifestyle). Each person and health problem brings a unique combination of symptoms and experiences, and my job is to weed through them and piece things together so that we can get to the root of your issue once and for all.
My interest in preventative and complementary medicines naturally arose as the child of a parent living with a chronic illness. I was well aware of the deficiencies in our conventional medical systems from a young age and understood the importance of filling those gaps, to not only prevent illness but also to improve the quality of life for those already faced with a diagnosis.
Because of this, I was attracted to traditional ways of healing and maintaining health. I began practicing yoga and making changes to my diet and lifestyle which made such a profound difference to the way I felt in my body and to the state of my mind, that I knew I had found something special, and at this point, my career path was clear.
In 2011, I began studying Registered Massage Therapy at WCCMT Victoria, obtaining my RMT license in 2014, that same year, I completed my first Yoga Teacher Training and just 3 years later I returned to the classroom to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the PCU College of Holistic Medicine.
It’s been quite the journey and while I prepare for my TCM licensing exams (which are scheduled for this fall) I am so grateful I have had the courage and drive to build a career around my passion. As Mark Twain said; “find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never work a day in your life.”
Through Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, and Chinese Medicine I hope to offer comprehensive care for all types of complex physical and mental-emotional imbalances. Through my own experiences of pushing through injuries and burnouts, I know that equal parts of compassion and butt-kicking are required to get you the results you are after and I’m just the one for that job.
My goal is for you to leave my office feeling understood, supported, and equipped with the knowledge to move forward, with a plan you might even feel excited about. Life Is short and you have so much to offer, so, let’s not waste any time. Taking your health in your own hands and making yourself a priority is the first step, and I’m here whenever you are ready.
